Childbirth Education Series

The Childbirth Education Series is a course taught by Dr. Paula Pilcher at Poise Studio that is specifically designed to prepare couples for the experience of childbirth within a home, birth-center, or hospital setting.

Using a variety of teaching techniques including interactive discussions, videos, guest speakers, & hands on childbirth preparation exercises, this course will help couples to:

~explore physical, emotional, & psychological aspects of labor & birth
~use nutrition as a tool for a healthy birth outcome
~create a birth plan & learn how to communicate with the birth team
~know when you are in labor, & techniques to keep it progressing
~become familiar with the stages of labor & how your body & baby assist you
~practice comfort measures & support techniques that make the difference
~understand the sources of pain in childbirth & how to use:
breathing, visualization, massage, reflexology, positioning & affirmations
